Directions to Pembroke House, 80 Tatum Street, London SE17 1QR
The easiest way to get here from central London is to take the tube to Westminster or Waterloo or London Bridge and catch a bus from there. From Westminster, catch the 53 or 453 from the stop between Parliament Square and the Cenotaph in Whitehall, around the corner from the Tube station. From Waterloo, catch the 168 or 172 outside Sainsbury’s in Waterloo Road, across the road from the entrance to the Jubilee line. From London Bridge, take the 21 from Borough High Street stop Y, very close to the river bank on the south side of the bridge.
If you’re arriving by bus from central London, get off at Old Kent Road / East Street. Continue walking in the direction of travel as far as the traffic light, where you should cross the road and walk down East Street. Take the second right, then left where the railings end, then right. It’s not far.
If you’re walking from Elephant & Castle tube station, on the station platform follow signs for the Shopping Centre. Exit the station and turn right. Don’t go down the ramp, but follow the pavement round to the right, past the Coronet. Continue past the long hoarding. Turn right into Rodney Place at the closed-down pub. Stay on the pavement. Take the second left past Victory Primary School on your left. Continue ahead, with a construction site on your right, then past a row of Boris bikes and bus shelter RX. Straight in front of you you will see a building signed No 1 Flint Street. Turn left and immediately right, down Elsted Street. After 100m, turn left and follow the road around to the right. We’re 100m down on the right hand side. This is a 10 or 15 minute walk.
If you prefer to take a bus from the tube station, follow signs for the Shopping Centre. Exit the station and turn right. Don’t go down the ramp, but follow the pavement round to the right, past the Coronet. Cross the New Kent Road at the pedestrian crossing and double back to bus stop J from which you have a choice of bus 63, 363, 53, 453, 168 or 172 to Old Kent Road / East Street, then follow directions above for arrival by bus.
If you’re driving or taking a taxi, get onto the Old Kent Road and turn into East Street. Take the second right, then turn left where the railings end, then right. It’s not far.
